Hirondo x Wecasa

Three countries, a brand to establish, and search habits that vary from one market to the next. To support its launch in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, Wecasa brought in Louis Pruvost, a Hirondo expert. Over the course of the engagement, organic traffic quadrupled.

Context

Following its launch in the UK, Wecasa continued its international expansion into the DACH region: Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The French home services platform initially focused on home cleaning, launching in around ten cities in North Rhine-Westphalia, as well as Zurich, Geneva and Vienna.

The service was ready, but visibility and trust still needed to be built. With established players such as Helpling already in the market, Wecasa needed to earn its place on Google and give customers compelling reasons to book. The brief: lay the foundations for organic acquisition tailored to each market.

How it all started

Wecasa already had a competitive benchmark and an initial keyword selection prepared by an external agency. Louis Pruvost joined to build on that work and assess it against local search behaviour.

From March to July 2025, working one day a week, he reviewed the main landing pages, local content and blog topics. The scope covered three countries, each with its own vocabulary, regulations and practices. Priorities had to be set: which searches to target first, which content to adapt, and where to focus the available time to support the launch.

Le déclic : partir des usages locaux

In German, several words describe a domestic cleaner: “Putzfrau”, “Haushaltshilfe”, “Reinigungskraft” and “Putzhilfe”, which was missing from the initial study despite its search volume. These terms reflect different uses. And behind the same query, two audiences overlap: customers looking to book and professionals looking for work.

Keyword choices therefore shaped everything that followed: the pages to create, the questions to answer and the journeys to offer. Louis adjusted the priorities around the searches most relevant to Wecasa’s home cleaning service. The same approach guided adaptation between countries: an article about cleaning costs needed to account for each market’s currency, employment arrangements and administrative requirements.

”“Choosing the keywords meant taking a close look at how people search in each market. The same query could come from a customer ready to book or a professional looking for work, so the content and user journeys had to reflect that.”

Implementation

The work began with the pages presenting the service. Three main landing pages were optimised around the priority search terms, then linked to service categories, local pages and articles. FAQs addressed customers’ practical questions. On city pages, references to neighbourhoods and local administrative areas added specificity, while job seekers were directed towards professional registration. Weekly ranking reviews helped guide adjustments.

Alongside this, Louis developed articles addressing questions close to a purchase decision: how much a domestic cleaner costs, how to register one, and which alternatives to Helpling are available. These topics addressed concerns about pricing, paperwork and choosing a provider. The content drew on official sources, examples and comparison tables, with links to the service pages. The aim: make each article a useful step towards booking.

Trust received dedicated attention too. An article brought together reviews from German customers to answer the query “Wecasa Erfahrungen”. A comparison article presented alternatives to Helpling using criteria relevant to customers. Within six weeks, Wecasa had overtaken the competitor for these comparison searches. The brand was starting to appear at the point where customers were making their choice.

What this engagement put in place for Wecasa

Wecasa now had an initial foundation for organic acquisition across DACH: better-connected pages, content adapted to each market, and topics addressing the questions customers ask before booking.

Progress was particularly visible on the German website. Two articles written during the engagement ranked among its ten most visited and clicked pages, while several local searches reached the top 15. Progress remained uneven across keywords, but the early results helped identify the content and cities where further effort would be most useful.

The first rankings are in place. The priorities identified for the next stage: strengthen local SEO, expand visibility across keywords with limited coverage, and simplify tracking across the three countries.
